Company Driver Benefits
After six (6) months of continuous employment, full-time employees are eligible to join the EPES 401k Retirement Plan.
Employees may contribute from earnings. The Company makes a contribution.
This plan includes a loan program and rollovers from other 401k accounts are allowed.
Recognizes those drivers who go above and beyond their normal daily responsibilities.
Members Credit Union, a North Carolina based, full benefits credit Union is available.
Dental Insurance is provided.
Direct deposit is mandatory.
Epes honors those drivers that have driven 1 million miles accident free at Epes Transport.
Three (3) days paid funeral leave will be permitted for death in the immediate family.
Epes will reimburse the cost incurred for obtaining/renewing a hazardous material endorsement for a CDL license.
Health / Pharmacy Insurance is provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield
After 90 days of employment, full-time road drivers will receive $45.00 holiday pay for the following holidays:
- Easter - Good Friday
- July 4th
- Labor Day
- New Years Day
Road drivers who are summoned for jury duty will be paid the difference between $40/day and the amount received from the court, two (2) weeks maximum.
Recognizes highway heroes and/or good deeds rendered to fellow drivers and/or the general motoring public.

- Available for purchase thru payroll deduction.
This is optional insurance and is paid for by employee through payroll deduction.
Allows you to bypass scales in the states where available.
A Year Around program designed for drivers and passengers that meet strict requirements.
In addition, insurance coverage on the passenger must be obtained, before authorization is given.
Epes will give $20.00 cash for all roadside inspections with no violations that are turned into their driver manager.
Recognizes safe driving for those drivers who are not involved in a preventable accident during their anniversary year.
Epes Carriers makes available a scholarship award to deserving children of Epes Carriers subsidiary employees.
Recognizes length of service with Epes.
EPES Transport will be starting up the Spousal Support Program for 2014. This program was designed to provide support, updated company information and events as well as be a resource to the spouses/significant others of our Driverís. Quarterly newsletters will be mailed out to our members who register for the Spousal Support Program.
If you have a spouse or significant other, please have him/her fill out the Spousal Support Registration form and turn it back into Human Resources. You can pick up a registration form at any driver terminal including the Greensboro Human Resources department. Epes honors full-time drivers who represent superior standards of performance in every area of their responsibility.
All full-time drivers who have been in continuous employment will receive paid vacation as follows:
- After 1 year - 1 week
- After 2 years - 2 weeks
- After 10 years - 3 weeks
Vacation pay will be an average of the employee's regular wages and works on an employee's anniversary year. Vacation time must be taken.
