The Epes Transport Greensboro terminal is collecting plastic bags for the months of January and February for the Operation Bed Roll initiative.
Operation Bed Roll is a collaboration between the Greensboro, North Carolina Field Operations and Police departments. It is to keep non-recyclable materials out of our landfills and help some of Greensboro’s neediest residents have a safe place to sleep. Operation Bed Roll is aiming to transform plastic grocery bags into sleeping mats for people in Greensboro experiencing homelessness.
Epes is donating plastic bags to the Operation Bed Roll initiative as well as supporting a local high school student in obtaining 250 hours of community service in order to obtain a service-learning diploma.

Due to the unfortunate and unexpected passing of our beloved Executive Vice President of Operations, Kevin Rickansrud, the Toys for Tots Stuff the Trailer event scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2016 has been cancelled.
Epes Transport will still accept toys and donations for Toys for Tots at our Greensboro location, 3400 Edgefield Court, Greensboro, North Carolina on December 3rd. However, the games, food and other activities associated with the event have been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
From the Epes family:
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce that one of our Epes family members, Kevin Rickansrud, Executive Vice President of Operations, unexpectedly passed away this past weekend. Without question, Kevin was truly passionate about his work and had a deep, caring impact on all those who knew and/or worked with him at Epes, regardless of position. Kevin will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
As a community, we ask that you keep the Rickansrud family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
During the week prior to Thanksgiving, the Epes Transport Rockwall office held a challenge to bring 10 canned goods or $10 to donate to Helping Hands of Rockwall. On Thursday, November 17, 2016, an SUV full of food was delivered as a gift from the terminal. We made a difference in our community today!
Epes Transport participated in the Guilford County Schools Career Exploration Fair on November 15, 2016 from 4 pm – 7 pm at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center. The event exposed middle school and high school students to the various industries within our area and provided information on the path to take to obtain the position desired. This was a great opportunity for Epes to engage the students in discussions about our driver and non-driver positions that are within our company. The biggest attraction was the tractor truck that the students (and parents) were able to get in and explore.
Epes employees Matthew Bryant – Local Driver, Tommy Wilson – Greensboro Maintenance Manager and Tamara Anthony – Director of Human Resources were in attendance.
