Miracle League Volunteers Needed

Epes once again has partnered up with the Miracle League of High Point to volunteer in their buddy system baseball program to help children with special needs.

We have three different dates giving more volunteer opportunities for you and your family.  Please see the information below for more details on how you can volunteer.

WHEN:       Saturday, September 24, 2016, 9am – 1pm

Saturday, October 22, 2016, 9am -1pm

The “Buddy” System Make a New Friend. Gain a New Perspective.

One of the most important parts of the league is the “Buddy” system — pairing each player with a volunteer helper. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend some time on the field helping a player maximize the joy of their experience. Helping these kids will warm your heart and give you a new perspective on life.

Goals for The Miracle League of High Point “Buddies” are simple:

  • To protect the player at all times.
  • To assist the player according to their needs.
  • To allow the player as much freedom as possible to play.
  • To have fun.

Become a buddy and you will be amazed by how much you are needed and cherished by the kids and their families. We promise you will witness a miracle and meet a new friend for life!

The Epes Employee Relations and Community Outreach Committee is having a school supply drive to donate to the Backpack Ministry for this upcoming school year.

Epes Wellness Score Card – Cardio Challenge*

5 Great Benefits of Cardio –

When you increase your heart rate, you are exercising your heart (which is a muscle).  Exercising muscles strengthens them.

Epes Wellness Score Card — Challenge 7/11/16

Our first challenge on the Epes Wellness Score Card is to drink the prescribed number of ounces of water per day that your body needs for 6 out of 7 days a week, for two weeks.  To determine your body’s prescribed amount, you use the following equation:

Body weight divided by 2 = # of ounces of water you drink per day.
