Saturday, October 22, 2016, 9am -1pm
WHERE: 2917 School Park Field, High Point, NC
The “Buddy” System Make a New Friend. Gain a New Perspective.
One of the most important parts of the league is the “Buddy” system — pairing each player with a volunteer helper. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend some time on the field helping a player maximize the joy of their experience. Helping these kids will warm your heart and give you a new perspective on life.
Goals for The Miracle League of High Point “Buddies” are simple:
- To protect the player at all times.
- To assist the player according to their needs.
- To allow the player as much freedom as possible to play.
- To have fun.
Become a buddy and you will be amazed by how much you are needed and cherished by the kids and their families. We promise you will witness a miracle and meet a new friend for life!

5 Great Benefits of Cardio –
1 – Improved heart health
When you increase your heart rate, you are exercising your heart (which is a muscle). Exercising muscles strengthens them.
2 – Increased metabolism
Cardio also increases other functions of your body….your metabolism. Increased metabolism makes it easier to maintain your weight (or lose it).
3 – Improved Hormonal Profile
It releases ‘feel good’ hormones that ease symptoms of depression and decrease appetite. It is a stress-relief benefit.
4 – Improved Recovery Ability
Moderately paced forms of cardio done after a heavy lifting session helps reduce the delayed onset of muscle soreness. It does this by bringing oxygen-rich blood to your muscle tissue.
5 – Management of Diabetes
By doing cardio, you increase your muscles’ ability to utilize glucose. People who exercise regularly have better control of their blood sugars.
The important thing is to keep your body moving! Any activity that gets your heart rate up – walking, bike riding, jogging, Zumba – find one that is fun and right for you!

On May 13, 2016, the “EPES AVENGERS“ team attended the Greensboro, NC Relay for Life led by the American Cancer Society. During a Relay event, participants and survivors celebrate what they’ve overcome and also recognize and celebrate caregivers who give time, love, and support to their friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers facing cancer. They remember those lost to the disease and honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer. The Epes team exceeded its goal of raising $2,000 during this event. It raised $2,090.
